|Dear SAR BLOG,
Paul Rainey, OAR Director of Public Policy, tendered his resignation this morning. He has accepted the job as Executive Director/Chief of Staff of the Senate Republicans and begins his new position on Dec. 16.
As my coach used to say, I’m a little sad and a little glad!
I’m sad to see him go… but am very excited about what this step up means to him and his family. The biggest frustration is that he was noticed because of his work on the Measure 79 Campaign… they want him to bring his magic to the Senate races in 2014.
I have spoken with Michael Van Dyke, OAR Legislative Director, and Shaun Jillions, OAR Chief Lobbyist, and they are both stepping up to take care of us during the short session in February. I will also be giving Michael a bit more responsibility. I will be posting this position in the near future – both in-state and out-of-state – but I don’t want to rush to fill this position until I have the perfect candidate.
Paul has been such a tremendous asset for OAR for many years, but especially so when he took over for Shaun last year.
Bottom line is – I think we all wish Paul well in his new endeavor (although I’m sure, those of you who swing toward the “D” side of the aisle are hopeful he isn’t quite as effective in the new campaigns as he was for us on Measure 79!)
ATTA WAY PAUL… HIT IT OUTTA THE PARK!!
Any questions, comments, or concerns – just let me know!
